Let’s Dig In! Shall we?

Traditional Vs. Online Business Diffrences

  • Workplace

  • Customer

  • Scalability

  • Distribution

  • Cost

  • Profit Margins

WORKPLACE

Traditional. Traditional businesses need office Space. Saan lugar mo itatayo ang business mo? This means that you need to own or lease a place. Depende sa type of Business mo, maaaring isang Kwarto, Palapag o isang buong Gusali.

Online. There is no need to lease any space. The only “space” na aalalahanin mo ay kung saan ka pupunta, basta may Internet.

OUTSOURCING

Traditional. You need to hire employees when you have a traditional business.

Online. Maaring ma-outsource all work using Software. Ang mga Online Business ay gumagamit nito to effectively leverage the internet by leaving work to automation software na siyang bahala to takes care of content creation, management, publishing, etc.

INVENTORY

Traditional. Kalimitan sa mga traditional business are within the physical world. Kailangan mo pa ng Warehouses or kahit anong type of Physical Storage to keep your Physical products.

Online. While most Online businesses sell Digital Products, wala nang dapat ipag-alala  sa Inventory Space. Every “space” is taken cared by cloud services or sa hard drive ng desktop / laptop.

COST

Traditional. According to phillipinesinsider.com, it costs about P50,000 to start a decent Sari-sari Store. But if the Sari-sari store itself is not yet constructed, a capital of P70,000 to P100,000 could be realistic.

Online. Online businesses do not cover huge overhead expenses dahil sa pagka Digital nature niya. The cost to distribute products are greatly reduced. So, you can start as low as P2,990 for an Online Business Package (Free Use of Website, Digital Products, Sales team, and Automated System).

DISTRIBUTION

Traditional. Since most traditional business offer physical products, there are offline costs to deliver to customers. Ang masama pa nito, na -traffic ka na on the way, “No Show” pa ang customer mo. Shipping physically to a customer takes time as well as money.

Online. In Online businesses, a product or service can be delivered within minutes or seconds. This greatly reduces distribution costs, in which most methods are free and done with Internet (online shipping).

CUSTOMER

Traditional Businesses may only cater to those within your Area. Example is a Restaurant in a city cannot reach the other customers from another city unless it builds another restaurant there or the customer comes to them.

Online Businesses  have a worldwide Audience. They can target any specific Audience not only within the business’ immediate surroundings but also from other side of the world.

PROFIT MARGIN

Traditional. With high cost and limited customer reach, expect to have a lower profit margins.

Online. With low costs and higher customer reach, having an online business is guaranteed to give you a higher profit margin.

SCALABILITY

Traditional. On the other hand, scaling up a traditional business may take some work. This means that you need to increase your profits so you can reinvest in marketing your brand to a wider audience.

Online. It is easier to scale up an online business. Your profits can be reinvested through Social Influencers, Facebook Ads, Youtube Channel, Upgrading database limits, etc.
